She is survived by her sister, Claudine Dahlbom; her two daughters, Betty Burke and Sue Kitchner; and Amanda Kitchner, the granddaughter she raised. She also leaves her son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Donna Kitchner; daughter-in-law, Faye Kitchner; two stepsons, Ken and Joe Peake; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and a host of wonderful friends.
She is preceded in death by her son, Robert Kitchner; former husband Wayne Kitchner; step grandson, Joey Peake; and husband Kennith Peake.
Betty has been a member of the Oddfellows/Rebekas Lodge for 50 years. She managed the Oddfellows Park on Camano Island for a number of years, where she took great pride in coordinating monthly breakfasts at the lodge.
Mom will be forever remembered for her apple pie and homemade rolls, and, most of all, her ability to make everybody laugh.
Graveside services will begin 1 p.m., Friday, December 3, at the Sedro-Woolley Cemetery, 2261 Wicker Rd., Sedro-Woolley, WA. At her request, there will be a gathering in her honor following the graveside services, starting approximately 3 p.m. in the Oddfellows Hall on Camano Ridge Road, Camano Island, WA. Everyone is welcome.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Serene View Manor, 8124 64th St. SE, Snohomish, WA 98290 or to Sitka Counseling and Prevention Services, 701 Indian River Rd., Sitka, AK 99835.
