Mr. Gordon Macon Small Jr., age 88, died Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in the Columbus Regional Healthcare System, Whiteville, NC. Born August, 10, 1929 in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Gordon Small Sr. and Estelle Taylor Small.
He is survived by one son; Alan(Faith) Small of Fair Bluff, NC.; and daughter Wendy(Jack) Meares of Fair Bluff, NC. Mr. Small is also survived by grandchildren: Josh(Lauren) Meares, Taylor Meares, and Jacob Small.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters: Mary Ford, Virginia Strickland, Niza Hewett, and Betty Dudney.
Mr. Small was a faithful member of Fair Bluff Baptist Church, where he severed over 40 years as chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee, He also served as deacon and RA instructor.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August, 24, 2017 from 7 PM to 9 PM in the Meares Funeral Home of Fair Bluff.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 at 11 AM in the Fair Bluff Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Powell Cemetery, Fair Bluff.
