CREAL SPRINGS - Norval Ray Bundren, 81, passed away at 10:20 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, at his home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, in Blue Funeral Home in Marion, with the Rev. Ivan Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Robinson-Wise Cemetery in Ozark. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at the funeral home.

Mr. Bundren was born April 17, 1925, in Palzo to Roscoe and Ollie (Rodgers) Bundren.

He was united in marriage to Melba Louise Anderson in Corinth, Miss., on Nov. 4, 1947, and together they shared 38 years of marriage until her death May 30, 1985. Born to the marriage were two sons, Bobby Ray and Charles Deon Bundren. He then married Marilyn Martin on Aug. 23, 1987, and she survives.

He was a member of Arnold View Freewill Baptist Church and the UMWA.

Mr. Bundren was employed at Peabody Will Scarlett Coal Mines, and he retired in 1987.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed music and loved playing his mandolin. He was also a devoted, family-oriented man. He never met a stranger. Prior to his failing health he visited and did odd jobs for relatives and friends throughout the community.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; one son, Deon Bundren; his twin brother, Orval Bundren; sister and brother-in-law, Edith and J.V. Tanner; sister-in-law, Lrene Bundren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Bobby Ray Bundren; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Lloyd Bundren and Ernest and Anna Mae Bundren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Myrtle and Paul Edwards, Helen and Herman Rector and Mary Ada Bundren.
