William Preston Dickson, Jr.

Born Jan. 28, 1926, Temple, Texas passed away Aug. 17, 2014; preceded in death by wife, Nancy Wood Dickson and son, Robert Stanley Dickson.

Dickson graduated from Waco High School June 1943, enrolling in the A&M College of Texas (class of '47). He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps Cadet Training Program, WW II. Upon discharge from the service, he returned to Texas A&M joining the Corps of Cadets. He was a member of the Ross Volunteers. He received a Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering degree in June 1949.

He and Nancy Barrett Wood were married January 6, 1956. They raised a family of four children. Dickson is a past president of the Dallas Chapter of ASHRAE, Rotary Club of Park Cities. He served as Governor of Rotary International.

Survived by daughter Debra Dickson Morgan and her husband Randall; her sons, Austin and Barrett Sanders; son William Preston Dickson III and his wife Shelley; son Preston IV; son Russell Wood Dickson and his wife, Dana; daughters Maggie, Rachael and Kate; grandson Robert Brandon Hakari, son of Robert; sister Sue Dickson Davis of Waco.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, August 22, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Restland Memorial Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Rotary Club of Park Cities Foundation Fund, Salvation Army or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
