He was predeceased by: parents Harry & Ethel Braasch (Shockley), brothers Lester, Wayne, Benny and his wife, Darlene J. Braasch.

He is survived by; sister in law Clarice, Blanche, and Judy (Celaschi); daughters JoAnn (Mark) Malarek, Dee (Derek) Ciralli; four granddaughters, five stepchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, and 27 step great-grandchildren.

Gary was a railroader at heart. He worked for the SooLine and BNSF retiring in 2002. Active member of the Hennepin Overland Club, NMRA Twin Cities Division, Relaxed Rails and Soo Vets. Gary took pride in being one of the last morse telegraph operators alive. Gary moved to NY with his daughter & family in 2011 due to health and quality of life. He knew all about the local roundhouse in Auburn as he dispatched trains there in the past.

Memorial will be October 14, 2017 at the Hennepin Overland Club from 1-4pm at 2501 E. 38th St Mpls, MN. Burial: Wimbledon, ND.
