Helen Joyce Abernathy, age 82 of Athens, AL passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Abernathy was born on May 4, 1935 in Limestone County to Floyd and Georgie Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wade Abernathy; granddaughter, Jessica Braithwaite and sister, Marcelle Williams.
Mrs. Abernathy is survived by her son, daughter, five grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; three sisters, one brother and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Abernathy retired from GM Delphi.
Services for Mrs. Abernathy will be 2:00PM Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Tommy Polk officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:45 prior to the service. Burial will take place in Roselawn Cemetery.
