Miss Dolly was a lovely lady who was married to my first pastor, Bro. Thomas "Jack" Tichenor. I remember her as always being very sweet, and dressed to the nines. She and Brother Jack were married for 68 years and had a daughter, Shirley Henderson.

Being in ministry is a lot more difficult than it looks, and Miss Dolly not only always kept Brother Jack physically prepared, but was ready with words of encouragement. She not only enabled him to engage in a wide ministry, but she worked alongside him, teaching religion to countless children. She loved them and they loved her. Miss Dolly not only had a good time working with the kids, but loved playing right alongside them. For 30 years she carred a note in her purse that was written to her by one of her first Sunday school boys and passed to her during a Sunday morning church service. The author of that note is now a pastor.

Miss Dolly was also very involved in WMU (Women's Missionary Union). I don't know where one could possibly meet a finer lady.
