Annabelle “Ann” Kraus, age 87, a formerly of the Town of Russell, died peacefully, Sunday, August 27, 2017 at her daughter's home in Wausau with her family by her side.

Ann was born on August 26, 1930 in School Hill. She attended Holy Trinity grade school and graduated from Kiel High School with the class of 1948. On May 9, 1953 Ann was united in marriage to Jerome R. Kraus at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill. He preceded her in death on August 17, 2009. Ann took great pride in her home and taking care of her family, once her youngest son was in school she started working at Sargento, where she worked until her retirement in 1995. Ann was an outstanding cook and baker; making homemade donuts, apple pies and cream puffs for anybody that would stop over. She enjoyed taking care of her beautiful flower gardens, sewing clothing for her children and other projects around the house until her Alzheimer’s took it away from her. Ann and Jerome enjoyed traveling all over the world, building a camper and taking it to California with their family. She had an impish sense of humor and her smile was contagious and remembered by everyone that met her. She is survived by her children: Richard Kraus, Rural Elkhart Lake, Jeanne (Dan) Kraus-Weith, Wausau and their children: Ben, Megan, Rhea, Nancy (Scott) Knepfel, Edgerton, and their son: Keaton; John (Ellen) Kraus, Hilbert and their children: Jeremy (Carson), Paul and Michael; and Bill (Julie) Kraus, Rural Elkhart Lake and their children: Callah, Jake, Macy and Max; 8 great grandchildren: Justice, Elena, Mckenna, Ava, River, Madeline, Aubrey and Isla Annabelle; one sister: Cecelia Muehlbauer; one brother: Roger (Theresa) Mayr; two sisters-in-law: Marice' Mayr and Janet Kraus.
