Daniel David Aschenbrenner Jr., of Frederick, died September 24, 2011 at St. Anthony North Hospital in Westminster. He was 68 years old.

Daniel was born on July 16, 1943 in Ft. Lupton, the son of Daniel and Selma (Aronson) Aschenbrenner. He moved to Longmont in the 1940s from Ft. Lupton. Daniel graduated from Longmont High School in 1961 and honorably served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Daniel married Pat Ahlbrandt on September 2, 1967 in Longmont. He worked at IBM until his retirement in 1993.
He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and B.P.O. Elks #1055 in Longmont. Daniel was also active as a Boy Scout Leader and baseball coach. He will be remembered as a movie buff that enjoyed woodworking and making stained glass.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Donald, Rodney, and Robert Aschenbrenner.

Daniel is survived by his wife Pat of Frederick; his son, Randy Aschenbrenner; his daughter-in-law, Corina Aschenbrenner; a brother, Edward Aschenbrenner (Markey) of Longmont; a sister, Eileen Smith (Frank) of Longmont; a sister-in-law, Irene Aschenbrenner and his proxy grandchildren, Brian Blackburn, Nora and Nadine Dukart and Ethan and Alyssa Wooley.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 AM with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 30, 2011 and all services will be held at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Cremation will follow services at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
