Myrtle grew to womanhood in this vicinity and on Jan. 16, 1913, she was united in marriage with Glen Joines, also of Sutherland. With the exception of five years of their married life spent near Slayton, Minn., she has lived her entire life In this community.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Glen and six children: Eldred H., serving with the Army somewhere in France; Mrs. Jasper Gleason (Evelyn) late of Mobile, Ala.; Mrs. Gerald Austin (Carvana) of Peterson; Mrs. Donald Foster (Lavonne) of Sutherland; Mrs. Ray Mileham (Lola), Laurens; and Dennis L. of Sutherland; also eight grandchildren and her father, George Salzkorn. There also remain three sisters and three brothers.
Her mother preceded her in death
Death is fraught with sadness, but that sadness is all the greater when one is called with little warning in bhe best part of life Mrs. Joines had been a sufferer from ulcers of the stomach the past few weeks and although confined to her toed the previous week had not been thought to be in a critical condition until pneumonia attended by an ulcerous hemorrhage set In, this being the direct cause of her death.
Funeral services for Mrs. Joines were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock m the Methodist church with Rev. A. A. Howe of Akron, former pastor here, in charge. He was assisted by Rev. H. G. Dawes, local pastor of the church. Services were directed by Keiste Funeral Home. Internment was in Waterman Cemetery.
