Ralph Croxton was a City Police Officer in Louisville, Kentucky. He served just 7 months, dying in the line of duty at age 28. Officer Croxton was confronted by a suspect he had arrested the night before in a raid. He was approached on 18th Avenue and Portland Avenue. A heated argument ensued, the suspect pulled out a pistol and shot Officer Croxton dead. Officer Croxton was survived by a wife and infant son.
