Marguerite "Peggy" Sharpless, age 81, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2007, at University Nursing Center, Upland, Ind. following an extended illness.
She was born Feb. 26, 1926 in Landis Township, N.J. She was a cook and homemaker. She became a health aid at the age of 60 years, and was formerly a Sunday school teacher at Central Methodist church in Bridgeton, N.J.
She is survived by her 5 children: Donald (wife Barbara) Sharpless, David (wife Lena) Sharpless, Diane Overstreet, Dawn Boothe, and Lorin (wife Christi) Sharpless; brother, Howard (wife Alice) Young; 14 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Amanda (Davis) Young; husband, Lorin Sharpless Sr.; two sisters, Winnie Walker, and Bea Peters; brother, Ray Young; daughter, Donna Plieth.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2007 at First Pentecostal Church, Marion, Ind. with Pastor Robert Harris officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, March 5 at the church. Burial will take place at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, Fla. 32205 at 10 a.m. on Wednesday March 7.
