He was born in New Holland Ohio on March 25 1930 to Allan and Elsie Helsel.
Lloyd is preceded in death by sisters Phyllis Dickie and Shirley Channell.
Surviving two brothers
He is survived by his wife of Chillicothe Ohio, 2 sons and a step son of VA. Lloyd has 3 grandchildren all of Chillicothe Ohio.
Lloyd also had many great grandchildren.
Lloyd was a US Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict with the Military Police receiving 3 Bronze Stars.
After his enlistment in 1957 Lloyd started with the Dept. of Rehabilitation and Corrections in London Oh.
As a Correctional Officer going up the chain of command to the Deputy Warden at C.C.I. In 1979 Lloyd left the DR&C and joined the Ross County Sheriffs Dept. as a Road Deputy until he retired moving to Ocala Florida.
Lloyd always wore his uniforms with pride and honor. He was a mentor to many and earned the respect of everyone he met.
He was always happiest when he was with his Posse. Whether it be doing riot control during a prison uprising or chasing escaped inmates or tracking fugitives with the U.S. Marshalls Service.
Lloyd spent his remaining years in the excellent care of Ocala Health and Rehabilitation Center.
They took great care of him treating him like their own family. A final thank you from 'grandpa' .
He will be sadly missed by many, we seek comfort in knowing he's watching over all of us.
He requested no services and has been cremated.
In lieu of flowers Lloyd would appreciate it if you donate or spend time with a Veteran and Support your Local Law Enforcement Agency.
