Rev. Adam Vance Vinson, retired minister, passed into loving embrace of Heaven on September 6, 2017. He was born April 28, 1930 in Lafayette County, MS and was the youngest son of 10 children born to Adam Micclay Vinson and Carrie Bell Baker Vinson.

Adam was an independent and active 86 year old until November 17, 2016 when a sudden heart attack, accompanied by numerous and simultaneous mini-strokes affected his well being. Unable to live alone, he has been under the care of his daughter since then and in recent months, admitted to an in-home Hospice Care Program. He passed into his eternal home quickly and peacefully in the early hours, September 6, with his daughter by his side.

He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran having served his country during the Korean War as a Combat Engineer.
he was famous for his story-telling abilities and loved making others laugh. He loved the Lord, his family, hunting, fishing, and gardenig. Over the years, he and his late wife, Iona Gordon Vinson served as pastors of several churches including, Clear Creek Baptist Church, Laamar, MS, 45 Baptist Church, Moscow, TN, and Bluff Springs Baptist Church, Denmark, MS.

The visitation and service will be held at the Holly Springs Funeral Home, 1160 Hwy 311, Holly Springs, MS 38635. Visitation with the family will start at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017, followed by a celebration of life service at 12:00noon. Burial will be at BluffSprings Baptist Church Cemetery, Denmark, MS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings, his youngest daughter, Annette Vinson, and his wife, Iona Gordon Vinson.
