Herald Coaster, December 4, 2000:

Guadalupe Vega Reza was born Sept. 10, 1905. She married her one and only true love, Joaquin Reza, in October of 1921. "Ma" Lupe gave birth to 13 children, 7 of whom still remain.

Her favorite color was purple, she loved to sit and look at her deep red roses, crepe myrtles, and rich-smelling magnolias blooming in her front yard. She most often showed her love by feeding her family. Her favorite pastime was crocheting and sewing.

She was a poor woman in the sense of material riches, but in the sense of spirituality, she was far wealthier than most of us could ever expect to reach in our lifetime.

She has followed her sister, Ambrosia Cellar, in death.

She is survived by her children, Consuelo Lopez, Petra Castillo, Jesus Reza, Modesta Vela, Ramon Reza, Mary Anders, and Gloria Reza and their spouses; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was truly loved and will be missed by all.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hernandez Funeral Home in Rosenberg. (281) 342-8803.
