Karl Edward Jacobs, 64, of Higley Hill, died Wednesday morning at the Veterans Hospital in White River Junction. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Covey & Allen Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home are this evening from 7 to 9. Mr. Jacobs was born in Wilmington May 25, 1910, son of Henry and Effie (Holbritter) Jacobs. A lifelong resident of the town, he attended local schools and on Aug 28, 1937 he married the former Elizabeth Atherton in Wilmington. During World War II he served with the Army in the European Theater. He was a former member of the American Legion. Besides his widow, he leaves a son, Reginald of Wilmington; two brothers, Gerald of Wilmington and Gordon of Wallingford; two grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
