Carol was born on August 10, 1937 in Sheboygan, daughter of the late Walter[actually, Harvey] & Edna (Freis) Lorfeld. She graduated from Kiel High School with the class of 1955. On June 9, 1956 Carol was united in marriage to Robert F. Hansen at St. John-St. Peter Lutheran Church, Cleveland. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2013.
Carol worked for Henning Cheese, Salvatorian Center, and New Holstein Piggly Wiggly. She enjoyed playing bingo and reading. Carol and Bob enjoyed dancing and card clubs with their friends. She was a member of Louis Corners Snowmobile Club and Manitowoc Homemakers Club. Carol loved spending time with her family and friends and looked forward to their outings.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tracy (Kurt) Kontney; six sons and three daughters-in-law: Mark (Colleen) Hansen, Bruce (Kelly) Hansen, Scott (Ulla) Hansen, Todd Hansen (Debbie Hansen), Kevin Hansen, and Jay Hansen; nine granddaughters: Heidi, Allysha, Lindsay (special friend Nathan), Amanda, Cecilia, Tammy, Tricia, Katie, and Samantha (Tanner); six grandsons: Eric, Peter (Amber), Javelin, Preston, JC, and Blake; five great-grandchildren: Jessica, Phoenix, Jenna, Camdyn, and Diesel; three sisters-in-law: Betty Lorfeld, Marie Stipe, and Virginia Hansen. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Carol was preceded by her husband, Robert, her son, Barry, her siblings: Harvey, Lorraine, Marlin, Luette, and Al and many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Per her wishes cremation has occurred.
