Death of Mrs. W.T. Beatty.
Tuesday night at 12 o’clock, the soul of a loving mother was called to its destiny. Mrs. Mary Beatty, wife of W.T. Beatty, was about 56 years of age, and was probably one of the first of the Shawnees that came to this country, about 25 years ago. She was a good, noble woman, whose purpose in life was to speak kind words and do good deeds. The immediate cause of her death was meningitis, and while she had every care that could be given by loved ones – her sufferings were intense. Mrs. Beatty had many warm friends throughout the country, who all found her to be the truest of the true. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community. The funeral will take place from the house tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock, conducted by Rev. M.L. Butler.
