Sidon John Harris was the son of David Harris (1748-1780) and Nancy "Nannie" Lane (1751-1820). He was married twice: 1)About 1805 in Burke Co., N.C. to Elizabeth Ann "Eliza" Harris (Widow Smith)(his 6th cousin) and 2)In 1820 in Buncombe Co., N.C. to Margaret Jane Crockett (sister of Davy Crockett). 1) Elizabeth Ann "Eliza" Harris (1785-Bef.1820) was the daughter of William Harris (1760-1830) and Nancy Highsmith (1763-1808). Her first husband was Thomas Smith (1783-1805). They had four children. She also had four children with Sidon Harris. She died before 1820 in Haywood Co., TN. 2) Margaret Jane Crockett (1790-1867) was the daughter of John B. Crockett (1759-1834) and Rebecca Sullivan Hawkins (1756-1832). She was the sister of David "Davy" Crockett (1786-1836) who died at "The Alamo" in San Antonio, Texas. Sidon and Margaret Harris had at least seven children together. She died in 1856 in Overton Co., TN. (or possibly Missouri City, TX.). Sidon John Harris had a son named John Harris (1813-1836) with his first wife "Eliza" who also died with his "Step-Uncle Davy" at "The Alamo". Sidon John Harris had another son named Sidon H. Harris (1820-1861) with his second wife Margaret who moved to Caldwell Co., Texas. (He was known as Sidon II) Sidon John Harris died in 1856 (or 1855) in Haywood Co., Tennessee and is probably buried there in the Harris Cemetery (Unproven).
