Mr. Charles E. Gilbert, Sr., 58, of 2701 Seminole Trail, Leesburg, died Monday in Leesburg.
Born in Malvern, Arkansas, he moved to Leesburg eight years ago from Oregon. He was retired from the U.S. Army. He was a Protestant.
Survivors include son, Charles E. Jr., of Oldtown, Florida, two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Juanita Nolan of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Mrs. Patricia Ann Woods of Fort White, Florida; three brothers, Fred of Arkansas, Dole of Malvern, Arkansas, and L.B. of Texas; a sister, Mrs. Rosie Heath of Arkansas; seven grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Lone Oak Cemetery, with the Rev. Hubert Beville, officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.

Charles served in the United States Army during World War II. He reenlisted three or four times, and each time he was sent overseas.
