Debbie was born in Dallas, Texas, on June 29, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Melba Johnson and the late Flin Cook.
Besides her husband, Mike, she leaves behind her two children Stephen Creech and Michelle Berta, her four grandchildren Erika Everett, Nikki Everett, Cameron Berta and Misty Creech, great grandson Brandon DeLaGarza and her three sisters Gwynn Kruger, Theresa Lambright and Kathy Parks, numerous nieces and nephews and close friends.
Joyful, kind, sweet, always smiling, and beautiful are the most common words used to describe Debbie. Debbie surrounded herself with beauty. She loved everyone and as a result was loved by everyone. She loved spending time with her family and was very proud to show them off. Everything Debbie did was for someone else, she was happiest serving others. In her eyes everyone else’s feelings came first.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 18 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 19 at Ovilla Heights Baptist Church, Mike Hendrix will officiate. Burial will be in the Mesquite City Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Gary Aufforth, Andy Blakely, Mike Campbell, Ken Clutter, Charles Creech, and Clarence Goforth.
