Henry F. Ospedale, age 88, a Manitowoc resident passed away Friday, September 8, 2017.

He was born on January 23, 1929 in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, son of the late Fred and Ann (Vingi) Ospedale. Hank graduated from Grosse Pointe High School with the class of 1947. He joined the U.S. Army in 1951 and served in the Korean War as a Military Policeman, Hank received his honorable discharge in 1953. On November 26, 1951 he married Audrey Podrabsky at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Audrey preceded him in death on January 31, 2012. Hank joined the Manitowoc Police Department in 1958 and retired with the rank of Detective Sergeant in 1989. He was a past member of the Manitowoc Lions Club and V.F.W. Otto Oas Post #659.

Survivors include one son: Craig T. Ospedale, Manitowoc; two daughters and two sons-in-law: Gina (Dr. Sam) Craft, River Hills; Gail Ospedale (R. Kris) Coleman, Washington D.C.; one grandson: Brett Ospedale; one great grandson: Adrian Ospedale; one sister: Lillie Ocelnik, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI.; one niece: Sherry Ocelnik-Bertich; other relatives and friends also survive. Hank was preceded in death by one brother-in-law: Leonard Ocelnik and one nephew: Greg Ocelnik.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home (928 South 14th Street), Manitowoc. Officiating at the services will be Deacon Rich Bahnaman. Military rites will be accorded at the Pfeffer Funeral Home by V.F.W. Otto Oas Post #659. Entombment will follow the services at Knollwood Mausoleum in the town of Kossuth.
