Oct. 7, 1959 - Sept. 6, 2017 Vacaville Charles Taylor Dowtin, 57, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 6. He was born on Oct. 7, 1959, in Rocky Mount, NC. Charles served in the United States Air Force from 1980 - 2009, retiring as an Air Reserve Technician at Travis AFB. He was a wine connoisseur who enjoyed cooking and loved playing with his two boys, Cooper & Berkley. Charles is survived by his husband of 22 years, John Anthony-Shultz Dowtin; mother, Elizabeth Kirkman; siblings, Jon and Christopher Dowtin; mother-in-law, Mary Shultz of Vacaville; sister-in-law, Leslie Carver of Sacramento, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be held on Friday, Sept. 29, at 1 p.m., at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon. Flowers may be sent to the cemetery in memory of C.T. Dowtin.
