David Wesley Shelby, 63, of Fayetteville passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at his home. He was born February 14, 1953 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to Robert and Elva Joyce Goff Shelby.
David was a retired school teacher for Gentry Public Schools teaching for 35 years. He played bass guitar in the River City, Monarch and Full House rock n roll bands. He collected vintage guitars and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Arkansas Razorbacks. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Springdale.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Shelby.
Survivors include one son, Chris Shelby and wife April of Springdale; one daughter, Sarah Shelby Markley and husband Justin of Springdale; his mother, Joyce Shelby of Fayetteville; Shirley Shelby of Springdale; two grandchildren, Braeden and Jackson.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church in Springdale with Rev. Kris Crawford officiating.
