Allen Eugene Imes, 69, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on September 18th, 2017. He was born on February 20th, 1948 in Checotah, OK to Imogene Trahern and Norman Kerr Imes Sr., and named after the missionary, C. Allen Clark (who also baptized him).
He graduated from Midwest City, HS in 1966 and helped run his family's Donut Shop and cafe' in Del City for many years. He went on to become an expert commercial restaurant equipment repair technician and worked for Hagar Restaurant Service for nearly 30 years until he officially retired in 2016. Besides his ability to fix anything, he was fondly known for his razor sharp "Imes" wit and will be greatly missed for his ability to make us laugh and think. He was faithfully married to JoAnn Imes for nearly 48 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. He was a member of the New Covenant Church in OKC for over 30 years. A member of the Choctaw Tribe, Allen's maternal grandfather was an original enrollee in the Choctaw Tribe and his paternal grandmother was an original enrollee in the Cherokee Tribe.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Jonathan Imes, brother Charles Imes, sister Martha Long, and most recently his wife JoAnn. He is survived by his daughters, Catherine Imes, Sarah Williams & husband James and Rachel Henderson; his brothers, Dr. Norman K. Imes Jr & Bonnie of Nichols Hills, Mark Imes & wife Mavis of MWC; his sisters, Sharon Macha & Rich Monroe of Houston, TX, Ellen Sides & Elly of Bandera, TX, , Tabitha Cole & Ron of OKC; his grandchildren, Jordan Henderson & wife Amber, Isaac Henderson, Brittney Henderson, Brandon Dufner, Julie Dufner; great granddaughter Violet Henderson and many extended family members and friends.
Our family would like to thank his Hagar Restaurant Service family for their longtime friendship, generosity, and support. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 30, 2017, at New Covenant Bible Church, located at 4230 S. Youngs Blvd., Oklahoma City.
