Sarah's biggest help after her husband Francis died were members of Cornplanter Tribe. She was left with 8 children to raise, the youngest 2 years old.
Sarah, Francis, 3 daughters, a son, and a son-in-law were buried near the mouth of Halyday Run; the family was interred in Grove Hill Cemetery in 1872.
