Mrs. Cynthia Diane Akin age 68 of Jackson, formerly of Lauderdale County, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born February 23, 1949 in Dyer County to the late James Adam Hayes and Mary Alice Carnell Hayes. Mrs. Akin loved children and spent her life as a teacher and educator.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Bernice Akin, Jr.
Mrs. Akin is survived by her son, Adam Akin of Jackson; daughter, Jennifer Akin Clark of Jackson; sister, Lisa Hyde of Alabama.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Cynthia Diane Akin will be held at a later date. Brownsville Funeral Home, 107 South Lafayette Street, Brownsville, TN 38012 is in charge of these arrangements.
