Anna was born in Lynn, Kansas to Anna (Snockinb) and Henry Postel. Around age 12 the family moved to Napa where Anna attended school. She had at least two sisters, Marie (married name Dorum) and Rose (married name Andrade).

On August 3, 1919 in Casper, Wyoming she was united in marriage to Otto Jess Fields. "Mr. and Mrs. Fields returned to Napa and have lived here since." The couple had at least one child, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren at the time of Anna's passing.

Anna and Otto enjoyed fishing.

Anna Dorothy Fields, longtime Napa resident, died last night at her home in Millers Trailer Court, after a sudden illness. She was 77. Mrs. Fields was bom in Lynn, Kan., and came to Napa when she was 12 with her parents, the late Henry and Anna Postel. She went to school here and was married Aug. 3, 1919, to Otto Jess Fields in Casper, Wyoming. Mr. and Mrs. Fields returned to Napa and have lived here since. He retired from Mare Island in 1948 and they have devoted a great deal of their time to fishing. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sisters, Marie Dorum of Yountville and Rose Andrade of Napa; four grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Treadway and Wigger Garden Chapel with the Rev. Erwin Bollinger officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Yountville Cemetery. (Source:
