Passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014, following a battle with pancreatic cancer, at the age of 81. Thelma was born on January 8, 1933 in London, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Luther and Verse Mae (Watkins) Bowman. She was married to LeRoy Smith; he preceded her in death. She then married Richard Stuut; he preceded her in death. She then married Ted Everett.

She worked for Cadillac Plastics Company, Boyd Casket Company and Blackhawk Photo Mount. She also worked as a housekeeper prior to her retirement. She was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Fellowship in Portage. She was a member of the Portage-Schoolcraft Eagles Club. For many years she took a line dancing and exercise class at the Vicksburg Community Center. She and Ted danced at the Scotts Community Center weekly. She is survived by her husband, Ted Everett and his four children, Julie Barnes, Diane Austin, Charlene Smith and Daniel Everett; four children, Debbie (Chuck) Boettner, Pamela Martinez, Connie (Kent) Morey and Ron (Annette) Smith; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters, Don Bowman, Helen Lowe Velasquez and Wanda Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Bowman, Caleb Bowman and Frank Bowman. Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Avenue, Portage, MI 49002. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Amazing Grace Baptist Fellowship, 10010 Portage Rd., Portage, MI 49002. Pastor Jim Glidewell will officiate. Private interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park at a later date.
