1919 - 2007
Mary O. Hoff Oct. 8, 1919 - Mar. 7, 2007 Today the earth lost an angel and heaven gained one. Mary was a woman of great beauty, grace and dignity. She was a kind person with a profoundly deep character. Always true to her self and her sense of what was fair, right and honest. Sincere and caring are words that describe her well. An avid golfer, she had in her life belonged to Bakersfield Country Club, Sundale and Kern River Golf Courses. She was also an active member of St. Lukes Episcopal Church until her illness made it impossible for her to attend and participate. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Maurice (Mike) Hoff and her son Gerry Hoff. Left to grieve her passing are her children, Judi Hoff, Tobie Ann Toth and Larry Hoff, seven grandchildren , Diana, Michelle, Miles, Tricia, David, Erica, Leslie and nine great grandchildren, Her loving in -laws, Della, Marguarite, Edith, Joe and Jean and Doug Hoff were really sisters and brothers to her. Services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel, Monday March 12 2007 1:00pm 9101 Kern Canyon Rd., with Rev. Jack Estes to officiate. The family wishes to thank the Alzheimer Association. The Day-care center gave her friends, activities, dancing and joy in her last years, and for this we are grateful. Special thanks also to Rita Alvarez, her caregiver from Interim, who was an excellent caregiver and a wonderful and compassionate friend to Mary and to Pastor Peggy Snyder of Calvary Full Gospel Church for the many prayers and kind words of encouragement and comfort to Mary and her family. Mary is free now from earthly pain and is in the loving embrace of her Lord Jesus Christ.
