The Lord called him home on September 24, 2017 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 71. He is survived by his son David Lee Anderson and wife Pamela of Dallas, his daughter Tracy Wilson and husband Brad also of Dallas, his sister Doreen Ninemire and husband Ron of Kansas City, Mo. He also leaves 4 grandchildren-Jeremy, Angelika, Tyler, and Nevaeh, nieces-Karen Sarah, and Becca, nephews-Nathn and Sam, cousins, and many friends. He was very active in his grandchildren's lives and loved them very much. They spent time fishing, geocaching, paddle boating, and kayaking with him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gustav and Fern Anderson.
He loved any good outdoor activity especially geocaching. He also loved going to watch the horses run and the racetrack. Odds were good you could catch him at Lone Star Park and least once a week.
In his career he was a supervisor at Lewis bakery in Vincennes, Indiana. He was in the bakery business for the better part of 50 years. The family sure loved the fresh backed goods he brought around on occasion.
Darrell loved to collect flashlights. He had every kind, size, shape, and brightness available. He made sure all the family members mentioned above were well equipped with flashlights and rechargeable batteries.
Darrell had a very comforting presence and had a way to remind folks to appreciate what the have and to be grateful.
Darrell loved his family very much and showed it by frequent visits and lots of scheduled outings.
He will be missed very much but is a home in heaven with his parents and grandparents. He had strong faith that insures that he is there.
