Geraldine Catherine Loscheider was born to Peter Anthony Loscheider and Margaret Wolter Loscheider in 1920. She was the third child of eleven.

She married Noble Peter Birch in 1937. They had four sons, one of whom died in infancy, and two daughters. When they had been married thirty eight years, Noble passed away. Two years later she married a kindly older gentleman named Walter Wider. They had been married twelve years when she passed.

... My Aunt Gerry was the best! If you didn't want to know what she really thought, you didn't ask. Because she would tell you! ~smiles~

She taught us not only by example, but by taking us aside and explaining things in a way we could understand. She always had time for us; as children she would tell us stories of days gone by and when we got older we would just chat.

We loved visiting! She had a little organ she let us kids play on, and music books galore.

Uncle Noble fished, and hunted bear, partridge, and deer; Aunt Gerry had a huge garden every year. She would feed her whole family, plus visitors for the whole year on those things. Aunt Gerry made a marvelous spread of food too! Boy could she cook! Spending time with her and Uncle Noble out at their house in the country was a big part of my childhood. I miss her so much.

Aunt Gerry was killed in a head on car collision, on an icy day in January. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Noble Birch; a newborn son, Robert Birch; and her parents. She was survived by her second husband, Walter Wider; two daughters, three sons, fourteen grandchildren, sisters, brothers, and many nieces and nephews.
