LAMBERT, WILTON EUGENE 'GENE', age 85, of Birmingham, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 2, 2010. He was a Navy combat veteran of WWII and President of R & T Bakery - a division of Beatrice Foods Inc., where he received their highest award, The President's Honor Club, for his extraordinary Leadership, Innovation & Service.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ovalee Drake Lambert; sons, Garrett and Larry Lambert; daughter, Rhonda L Milstead (Mike); grandchildren, Hayley M. Roberts (Matt), Michael Milstead (Kelly), Marbury L. Hendon (Chris) and Gene Lambert; and five beautiful great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 6th, from 10-11 AM Ridout's Valley Chapel. Funeral services will commence at 11:00 AM, followed by burial at Holly Pond Cemetery in Cullman County. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wiregrass Hospice or The Salvation Army. Services are under the direction of Ridout's Valley Chapel (205-879-3401) in Homewood.

He married Maggie Ovalee Drake 10 Aug 1946 in Cullman County, Alabama. He is the son of Alvin Samuel Lambert and Martha Josephine Carden. The paternal grandson of Lewis Franklin Pierce "L.F.P" Lambert and Margaret Missouri Williamson.
