Garnet Gwinn Moore

PRINCETON - Garnet Gwinn Moore, 91, of 210 Walnut St., Princeton, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, in a Princeton hospital.

Born May 7, 1907, in Thurmond, she was the daughter of the late James Enos and Virgie Mae Richmond Gwinn. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Princeton and a member of the T.E.L. Sunday School Class of the church. She was a 1925 graduate of Princeton High School, and a member of the Patterson Lodge 472 Brotherhood of Railway Trainsman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis L. "Dinty" Moore; two daughters, Jacqueline Moore and Rosalind Moore; one brother, James G. Gwinn and four sisters, Gladys G. Powell, Alfreda G. McCoy, Juanita Gwinn and Eva E. Gwinn.

Survivors include two nieces, Mrs. Teda Houchins and her husband Tom of Baytown, Teas, and Nancy Tompkins and husband, J.B., of Alexandria, Va.; One nephew, Dr. William "Bill" Powell and wife Sara of Hartwell, Ga.; and one sister, Mildred G. Bishop of Princeton;

Graveside funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Oakwood Park Cemetery in Princeton. Dr. David Dockery officiated. Burial was in Oakwood Park Cemetery.

Men of the church will served as pallbearers.

The George W. Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton was in charge of arrangements.
