Services for Martha Irene Martin, 76, of 800 W.- 6966 N., will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Deer Creek Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Martin died at 11:55 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998, at her residence. Born April 4, 1921, in Washington Township, Cass County, she was the daughter of Charles and Ruth Yeakley Rush. On May 21, 1944, in Cass county, she was married to Fred W. Martin, who survives. A homemaker, Mrs. Martin retired from Carroll Junior-Senior High School, where she was a secretary. She was a member of Deer Creek Presbyterian Church and a volunteer at Logansport Memorial Hospital. She also was a membr of the Carroll County Home Extension, cancer Support Group of Howard County and the Women's Golf League in Fort Myer, Fla. Also surviving are two sons, Craig Martin, Clayton, N.C. and Mark Martin, Logansport; two daughters, Vicky Coppock, Osceola, and Marcia Maple, Kokomo; two sisters, Wilma Hile, North Fort Myers, Fla., and Shirley Moss, Logansport; 13 grandchildren, Brian Martin, David Martin, Jennifer Beaufort, Meghan Martin, Travis Martin, Kyle Maple, Lindsey Maple, Michael Lowe, Jennifer Adams and Jim Davidson; and two great grandchildren. One son, Kenny Martin, and two brother, Raymond and Ralph Rush, preceded in death. The Rev. David Smook will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Deer Creek Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to8 p.m. Saturday in McCloskey-Hamilton-Gundrum Funeral HOme and one hour before the servicesw Sunday in the church.
