Michael Pivola, Sr. age 89 of Derby and formerly of Shelton entered into rest on Wednesday June 11, 2008 in the Griffin Hospital Derby. He was the devoted husband of the late Harriet Lenart Pivola.
Mr. Pivola was born in Bridgeport Dec. 3, 1918 son of the late Michael and Mary Ryi Pivola and has been a Shelton resident for most of his life until moving to Derby 4 years ago. He was the retired owner and operator of Michael Pivola and Son Construction Co in Shelton for over 50 years.
He is the beloved father of Judi Nickle and her husband James Nickle, Sr. and the late Michael Pivola, Jr. He is the loving grandfather of Marylisa, Karen, James. Jr., Michael. Sheri, and Kelly. He also leaves a sister Helen Drauweski 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by 3 brothers Daniel, and Anthony Pivola, and John Vrotace, and 4 sisters Mary Peavey, Catherine Vichola, Silvia Sciongay, and Anna Laputz.
Mr. Pivola’s funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family. Burial was also private in Riverside Cemetery. There are no public calling hours. The Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton has been entrusted with his arrangements.
