Memorial service to be held Saturday afternoon, June 18, 2016 at Greater Victory Temple COGIC (Church of God in Christ), Seaside. Arrangements handled by Mission Memorial Park and Seaside Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband of thirty-eight (38) years; her daughter; two (2) sisters and a brother-in-law. a niece and nephew; two (2) male and one (1) female cousins; and numerous other family and friends.


Deborah Ann Baity was a resident of Seaside. Known to most friends as "Debbie." She died June 9, 2016. She was born in Long Branch, New Jersey on December 30, 1956 to the late Zedora C. Binford and Decator P. Binford. She was the youngest of three (3) sisters. She was a very talkative and outgoing woman. She loved helping the community, engaging in fundraising, and looking for scholarships and community enrichment opportunities. She had a great personality. Helping people was very important to Debbie. She was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Gamma Zeta Chapter, New Brunswick, New Jersey, on May 13, 1977. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Business Economics from Rutgers University in 1978. After graduating, she married her college sweetheart, Robert. He joined the military and they traveled overseas before settling in the Monterey Peninsula area. They have one (1) daughter, who recently received her Master's degree from Chapman University. Debbie stayed active in Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority on the peninsula. She served as president, vice president, parliamentarian, membership chairman, and numerous other positions. She also worked as Deputy EEO Officer at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS). She took annual trips to celebrate her birthday in Las Vegas with her family and to welcome in the New Year.
