Carol Lee Horrigan, 77, of Brooklyn, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017.

A Celebration of Life celebrating Carol’s life will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the Haven Community Church with the Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. Inurnment immediately following the service will be held in Haven Cemetery.
A fellowship visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm Monday, October 16, 2017 at the Haven Community Church.

Survivors include her husband, Rodney; daughters, Dea Diane Morrison of Chelsea/Brooklyn and Brenda Denise (Eric Johnson) Johnson Horrigan of Sydney, Australia; adopted son/grandson, Spencer Daniel Horrigan of Brooklyn; grandchildren, Spencer Daniel Horrigan, Alissa Rae Johnson, Kiara Johnson, Brianna Hope Morrison and Marci Denise Morrison; sister, Shirley (Earl) Tiedt Brandt of Sumner, IA.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold & Erna Tiedt.

Carol Lee Tiedt was born April 12, 1940 in Readlyn, Iowa, the daughter of Arnold & Erna (Aschbrenner) Tiedt.

On December 23, 1961, she married Rodney Fredrick Horrigan at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Readlyn, Iowa.

Carol was a teacher and taught in Meridian, MS, Kingsville, Texas, Beauford, S.C., and for over 20 years at South Tama Community Schools establishing the Home Economics Dept.

Later she was also co-owner of Chelsea Ag Center Inc. for 18 years. In 1996, she was ordained a Pentecostal minister serving in the mission fields of Russia, Ghana W. Africa, and Haiti for 21 years.

Memorial donations may be given in her name to the He’s Alive International Ministry for Church planting in foreign countries, 3049 160th St., Brooklyn, IA 52211.
