ADOLFO LAUREL JR.
March 31, 1930 – September 28, 2017

Mr. Adolfo Laurel Jr. passed peacefully into the presence of our Lord surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the age of 87.

Mr. Laurel was a Corp. in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict up until his honorable discharge in 1953. After his tour of duty he returned to Laredo and to attend Laredo Community College and later was employed with Yeary's Automotive for 35 years. After his retirement he worked at Border Bingo as a sponsor for a non-profit organization.

During his golden years he enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf, and supporting non-profit organizations such as Sacred Heart, LULAC, and Laredo Evening Lions.

To all those who were fortunate enough to know him knew he lived life to the fullest for his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolfo and Margarita Laurel; brother, Agustin (†Gloria) Laurel; and sister, Amalia (†Joe Luis) Alarcon.

Adolfo is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Alicia G. Laurel; his loving children, Adolfo (Julie) Laurel III, Belinda (Jose Luis) Rodriguez, Veronica (Benjamin) Garcia; his grandchildren, Vanessa (Javier) Reyner, Daniella Rodriguez, Elizabeth (Sean) Ali, William Laurel, Corey Franklin, Jessica Franklin; great grandchild, Lillian Reyner; and his brother, Armando (Delia) Laurel. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other loved relatives, and friends.

The Laurel family is profoundly grateful to Dr. Ricardo Cigarroa and the medical staff at Laredo Medical Center, Laredo Rehabilitation, and Veterans Administration for their devoted care.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 02, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel; 1410 Jacaman Rd. A Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral procession will depart at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 03, 2017 from the funeral home to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m.

Interment will then follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
