Alene Wagner Anderson, age 90, of Rockwall, TX, passed away March 6, 2017. She was born May 18, 1926, in Huron, SD, to William Arthur and Adeline (Wipperman) Wagner. Alene married Alan Roger Anderson in Huron on June 19, 1949. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Alene grew up in Huron, but had many moves with her husband, Alan, and her family that took her all over the United States due to her husband’s employment with Swift Meatpacking. Their final stop was in Dumas, TX, until she relocated in Rockwall in 2009, to watch her youngest granddaughter, Haley, after school and during summers.
She is survived by her children: William Mark Anderson of Cincinnati, OH, Joyce Helen Chadwick Eby (Joel) of Wichita, KS, and Kristine Marie Anderson McGee (Chip) of Rockwall; grandchildren: Jay Alan Dillon, Andrea Rachael Chadwick, Eric William Anderson, Stephen Edward Anderson, Allison Casey Dillon, Lucas Edward Chadwick, Theodore Paul Anderson and Haley Kieran McGee; great grandchildren: Jayce William Dillon and Jayvion Alan Dillon; and sister-in-law: Carole Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband: Alan Anderson; daughter: Janis Alene Anderson Amerpohl; and brother: Arthur Henry Wagner.
The family will hold a memorial service at First United Methodist in Huron, SD, on May 5, 2017, at 11:00am with a burial afterwards at Riverside Cemetery, in Huron where her husband, parents, brother, and several other family members are buried.
