Born in Rockland Township, she was a daughter of the late Samuel R. and Ellen E. (Kline) Heffner. Miss Heffner was a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church, Kutztown. She was employed as a sewing machine operator by the former H. K. Deisher Knitting Mills, Kutztown, for over 32 years. Beckie or Auntie as she was fondly referred to by her family and friends, enjoyed doing cross-word and jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, gardening and planting flowers. The family would like to thank the staff at Kutztown Manor for the compassionate and wonderful care they gave Beckie over the last three years.
Rebecca is survived by her two Sisters, Mary K. (Heffner), widow of William W. Adam, with whom she resided with in Maxtawny Township, Nettie K. (Heffner), wife of Harry H. Herman, Jr., Kutztown; a Brother, Harold K., widower of Arlene N. (Green) Heffner, also a resident of Kutztown Manor; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who loved her dearly. She was predeceased by her Parents, 4 Sisters, Anna M. (Heffner) Reppert, Cora M. (Heffner) Fitzgerald, Alma Heffner and Pearl Heffner; and 4 Brothers, Howard S. Heffner, Earl Heffner, Jeremiah K. Heffner, and Robert K. Heffner.
Funeral services to celebrate Rebecca's life, followed by burial in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Kutztown (Greenwich Township), will be held privately. There are no calling hours.
