Nicholas Heayn Pearce was the eldest child of John Williams Pearce and Lucy Ann Heayn Pearce. Born in England, he emigrated to Pennsylvania with them as a tiny infant, and is listed with them in the 1870 census.

His place of birth is shown as England in the 1870 and 1880 censuses.

Sadly, Nicholas died as a teenager. He was remembered in a resolution by his classmates in the Second Methodist Episcopal Sunday school.

Spreadsheet, records of Richland Cemetery housed at McKeesport Heritage Center:

Piercy, Nic H [record] 289 [burial date] Nov 11 1891 [age] 18 yrs 10 mo 5 days

This is certainly Nicholas Heayn Pearce, who died at that exact age, but on December 26, 1888. It seems likely that he was originally buried at another cemetery (McKeesport and Versailles), and was transferred to Richland in 1891. If spreadsheet record numbers represent the chronological order of burial, then Nicholas's brother Harry Pearce (record 262), who died in May 1891, was buried at Richland before Nicholas (record 289), who died in 1888 and was buried at Richland in November 1891.
