Second Lieutenant, Donald Robert McPherson, Royal Engineers. 555 Field Coy.
Son of John Jackson McPherson and Hannah Selina McPherson, of Brockley, London.
He was one of 6 children, three girls and three boys. After his education he attended the Penrith 'Boys' National School and the Grammar School. After his education he went to work as a draftsman at Cowans Sheldons Engineering Co. in Carlisle. Donald volunteered for the British army to fight for his country.

Killed In Action March3,1945
when his Jeep drove on a landmine.

Awards: France and Germany Star.

Second Lieutenant, Donald Robert McPherson.

I put this plaque on Donald's grave in October last year and Paul ten Broeke kindly took this picture when he was visiting over the last weekend. Thanks Paul. RIP, Uncle Donald.
