Betty J. Adams, 84, of Mount Carmel, IL passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Oakview Heights Continuous Care & Rehab with her loving family by her side.
She was born on September 2, 1931 in Wabash County, IL the daughter of Charles Raymond and Sarah Opal (Dewitt) Banks. Betty married Kenneth E. Adams on April 7, 1947 and together they enjoyed forty two years of marriage before his passing on January 19, 1990.
Betty had an abundant love for life, music and people. Her heart was for her children and grandchildren who meant the world to Betty. She was Grandma to many and was given the nickname “Betty Boop”. Some of her special memories were long car rides with her grandchildren to look the changing of the leaves of the fall season. Throughout Betty’s life she maintained a special relationship with her sisters. They were always up for going on an adventure together calling themselves the “Green Sisters”.
Betty will be remembered by her loving family, her daughter, Angie (Gary) Cropper of Mount Carmel; grandchildren, Troy (Susan Gillette) Cropper, Brian (Melanie) Cropper, Kristi Cropper, Kendra (Jason) York, Katie (Jack) Crawford and Jennifer Cropper; great grandchildren, Coleton Cropper, Carly Cropper, Keirsten Cropper, Madison York, Tony Miller and fiancé Cannon Keepes, Brenden Cropper, Spencer Crawford, Olivia York, Lillian Crawford, Brynna Cropper, Tucker York, Wade Cropper, Lucas Crawford; great grandchildren, Kaylyn Cropper, Emmett Ellinghausen and Aveah Miller; brother, David (Judy) Banks of Mount Carmel; sisters, Pauline Snyder of Vincennes, IN, Roberta Thomas of Mount Carmel and Barbara (Waldo) Wright of FL. Betty will be remembered by her family and all who knew her.
