W. A. Montgomery, Former Trojan, Dies in California

William A. Montgomery, 72, a former resident of Troy, died yesterday in Torrance, Calif., following a lengthy illness.

A native of County Cavan, Ireland, Mr. Montgomery was an overseas veteran of World War I. He was formerly employed for a number of years by the John A. Manning Paper Co., Green Island, and was on of the founders of it's 25 year club.

While in this area, Mr. Montgomery was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church. He retired in 1958 and had since resided in California.

Surviving are his wife, the former Mary E. (Robitaille) LaMonda; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Porter of Torrance; a step-daughter, Mrs. William Grant of Troy, a step-son, Joseph Porter of Torrance; a Md., a sister Mrs. Maude Keith of Carmel, N.Y. and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Monday, from Sheeler's Funeral Home, 1952 Long Beach Blvd, Torrance. Interment will be in Long Beach, Calif.
