Virginia was born in Hermansville, Michigan on October 3, 1923 to the late Alfonse and Ann Bellmore Demell. On June 7, 1947, she married Claude B. Ford, and he preceded her in death on October 2, 1960. Virginia retired from Paragon Electric Company after 10 years of service and remained very active in her retirement years. She was a longtime volunteeer at St. Vincent de Paul in Two Rivers, and member of the Homemakers Club and the Ladies Sheepshead Club at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. She enjoyed many years of traveling, bowling and golfing; and enjoyed cooking for her family. Above all, she enjoyed the time spent with her daughters and granddaughters.
Survivors include two daughters & sons-in-law, Kay and Paul Francisco of Two Rivers, Lynn and Tom Moore of Manitowoc; two granddaughters: Kelli (Jim) Knoebel of Alaska, and Lauren Frozena of Manitowoc. She is further survived by a brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law: Don Brixius, Eleanor Demell, Florence Morreau, and Hazel Weber; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Claude, she was also preceded in death by her step-father, Arthur Morreau; and her siblings: Raymond Demell, Dorothy Demell, George "Harold" Demell, Jeanette Fadroski, Arthur "Sonny" Morreau, and Ann Brixius.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2017 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd. Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Tom Reynebeau, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
