Laid to Rest

SILVER ACRES, Aug 21 – Charles Curry, 75, well known local resident, was laid to rest at the Westminster Memorial cemetery Friday afternoon. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mabel Curry; two sons, Chester and Charles Curry Jr., of Los Angeles; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Carlton, and Mrs. Magie Lee Stuart of Gatesville, Texas; Mrs. Lucille Karnatz of Pomona and Mrs. Ruby Fuller of Los Angeles; two brothers, Tom Curry of Blanket, Texas, and Sam Curry of Silver Acres.

Curry was a member of the Silver Acres Community church since it was organized approximately five years ago. He was a member of the choir of that church until ill health made it impossible for him to continue. Before coming to Silver Acres, Mr. Curry lived in Gatesville, Texas until 1921 when he moved to Los Angeles and then to Orange county in 1927. While Curry live in Los Angeles he was a member of the Trinity Methodist church of Los Angeles, whose pastor is the Rev. Bob Shuler. The Rev. Shuler’s father was the pastor of the church which Mr. Curry attended in Texas.

The Rev. Mr. Richardson, pastor of the sliver Acres Community church conducted the funeral services which were held at the Honold Mortuary in Garden Grove.
