ABEL, Frances (nee Galletly) - Beloved wife of 55 years of the late James Abel. Frances passed away, after a brief illness on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the age of 96. Fran was predeceased by her sister Betty Morrice. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Joan Hosking (Ron) and her 2 grandchildren, Scott (Kate) and Tony and her 2 great-grandchildren, Liam and Cole. She achieved her BA and BLS degrees at the University of Toronto in 1940 and worked for the Toronto Public Library for over 30 years. Visitation at MCDougall and Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Rd. (east of St. Clair Ave. E.), Scarborough, on Monday, August 26, 2013 at 1 p.m., followed by a service in the chapel at 2 p.m. A private cremation service will be held at a later date at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to "St. Michael's Hospital Palliative Care Unit", 30 Bond Street, Toronto M5B 1W8 or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
