Arthur L. Hansen, age 81, formerly of 1319 Philippen St., Manitowoc, passed away Friday evening, October 6, 2017 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center.
Arthur was born on July 14, 1936 in Manitowoc, son of the late Arthur H. and Myra I. (Kassner) Hansen. He attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1954. In the past Arthur worked for Schmidtman's Carferry School Supply, Hamilton Mfg. and retired in 2001 from Sentry Food Store in Manitowoc. Arthur was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc County Historical Society, Clipper City Model Railroad Club and the Manitowoc Chief's Football Club. He enjoyed model railroading and crossword puzzles. In the past Arthur use to write crossword puzzles for Dell Publishing.
He is survived by five sisters and brothers-in-law: Gwen (Ralph) Markowski, Manitowoc; Sharon (Allen) Peserik-De Smidt, Manitowoc; Evelyn (Marvin) Smallwood, Beeville, TX; Nancy (Jim) Cigler, Whitelaw; Caryn (Gerald) Nickels, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Arthur H. and Myra I. Hansen; one brother-in-law: Alois Peserik; one nephew and one niece.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 2601 South 10th St., Manitowoc. The Rev. Jim Wilson will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
