Gotlieb Shimek, 78, of Rt. 1, Reedsville, died Friday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 9:45 a.m. Monday at Reedsville Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Reedsville, with the Rev. William Koutnik officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was born Nov. 8, 1883, in Bohemia, son of the late Albert and Catherine Meeka Shimek. He came to America with his family when a year and a half old. He never married. He farmed in the Town of Rockland.
Among survivors are a brother, Albert, of Reedsville and a number of nieces and nephews. Three brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
